Hello there. My name is Leah Hedberg. I’m a photographer.
I live in Hood River, Oregon, in the Columbia Gorge, where I photograph the surrounding natural beauty and do printmaking from my home studio.
I studied photography at Northern Arizona University. This was in the days of film, so I spent some time in darkrooms acquiring a sense of patience and mystery about the craft. I've worked in portraiture, commercial, and wedding photography.
Today, I work as an apprentice to the natural world here in Oregon, to serve others with visual art that creates a sense of solace and belonging. I photograph natural subjects like mosses, lichens, and conifer cones — and moments — like light falling in rainbows on a late afternoon wall. Once in awhile, a song comes from inside the thing I’m looking at, and time stands still.
